Descent from Faiallo Pass to Martina d'Olba
Faiallo PassHow to arrive: Itinerary.
From the Pass we go down on asphalt in direction of Urbe (west) for around 130
We don't turn in an inviting dirt narrow road but we still cross 10 meters and
we find the path with the trail signs FIE g22
We turn to the right and we take the narrow path that climbs not very steep but
no cycle because of the high grass and some stone.
We enter the wood and we keep on climbing afoot up when the path becomes level
and reaches the ridge. We continue between lawns and groves with some easy slope
reaching the most elevated point (km 0,9).
We steeply go down and we reach an unmetalled road (km 1,4) that we follow to
the left. To the first curve we leave the road (that it reaches the Sp in the
place Houses Zanotta distant only 150 meters) and we continue to the right on
the trail signs.
After some ups and downs the path reaches a grassy saddle (km 1,9) where we follow
to the right a narrow road but we leave it after some meter to follow the path.
We longly cross in the thin wood with almost level and almost entirely cycle
course. A steep and stony descent brings us to Colla Cianetti (km 4,1) where
we follow to the left the road almost immediately asphalted.
The road meets in another (km 4,7) where we turn to the right. Up here in common
with the itinerary 40.
We now follow the trail sign FIE g20
the asphalted narrow road that climbs. In front of the house we cross an unsurfaced
tract and, to the hairpin bend (km 5,2), we take to the left the path.
We go down in the wood for some hundred meters and we return on asphalt that
we follow to the left up to the provincial road 40 (km 5,6) that we follow to
After less than one hundred meters we turn to the right in a path that skirts
the enclosure of a house. We cross an asphalted narrow road continuing straight
in the lawn beside a house. The path is a little visible in the lawn but if we
go straight we find again it entering the grove.
The path in the wood widens to mule-track, in good part still paved. We go down,
we leave to the right a ruined house and we reach a ford (km 6,4).
The mule-track continues; we meet some fork where we hold the most evident run.
The great roadbeds of support and the ampleness of the road testify the ancient
importance of this run.
A level tract brings us to a house (km 7,4) and, since have to pass really on
the door, let's go slow!!
The road of the house finishes on the asphalt (km 7,5). We turn to the right
and we follow the asphalted road going down up to the hairpin bend (km 8,3).
We turn to the right here in a narrow road that goes down rather steep. We overcome
a tabernacle and a house and we begin the last descent.
After an easy part the mule-track worsens becoming obscrut by busch and partly
slipped. The descent finishes on the provincial 49 (km 9,1) to the doors of Martina.
practicable only in descent.
